The birth of Jackson | birmingham, alabama birth photographer

I had the honor of photographing the birth of sweet baby Jackson in the wee hours of the morning, September 13, 2014.  He was born at 4:21 a.m. to be exact weighing in at 9 pounds!   I arrived at the hospital the afternoon before and we settled in for what turned out to be a long night of labor but the room was filled with all of their friends and family and lots of laughter into those wee hours of the morning!  I can’t imagine a better way to spend such an amazing time in their lives surrounded by everyone they love.  As I left the delivery room around 6 a.m. I found all of those loyal friends sitting right outside the door waiting patiently to be there for baby Jackson’s first moments.  Sigh.  Amazing.

Congratulations again… he is just perfect and thank you for allowing me to be there with you all every step of the way of Jackson’s birth day.

30 minutes in the life

I got asked a while back to be the guest blogger for the 30 minutes in the life group.  I remember seeing my friend Colleen’s post about her walk through Central Park and how amazing it was!  Such an honor to get to do this this month!

Our excitement around here recently has been a leg cast and back to school!  Hannah fell on our first full day of vacation in Seaside last month and broke her foot.  She has been in a cast for 6 weeks now and will hopefully go into a walking boot after her follow up this coming week.  She also started the third grade this month so we’re getting adjust back into that routine as well.

Here’s a peek into the nightly routine.  This particular night this past week was Hannah’s Great-Great Grandaddy’s birthday so she made him a sign to show him when we facetimed with them!  Followed by homework time (I’m lucky that she’s always EXCITED that she has homework!), the shower routine complete with a waterproof cast bag and storytime.  She then typically reads her own book for about 20-30 minutes before lights out.  I’m glad I was chosen to participate in this project and I so enjoyed getting the camera out and documenting our everyday life.  I most definitely need to do this more often!  Be sure to check out the next featured photographer, Erin Konrath, and you can view her post here!

Thanks for stopping by!

Awww…your poor little girl…breaking her foot at the beginning of summer. :( I really love these images, though. Shows the everyday of what us Moms do :) ~Stacey

Love these sweet photos of Hannah!! You really captured her so well. My favorites are her face-timing with her great great grandparents and Hannah with her cat :)

Bummer about the broken foot, but I love the color of the cast. When Cameron had casts I am sure they were like army fatigue colors. Great cat photo and the interaction of your daughter with it on the bed. Hope she feels better soon. Thanks for sharing.
