{studio news}

My beautiful assistant Mandy and I have been working hard to get the studio up and running… and only 24 days until the official grand opening!  If you haven’t already heard, the event will be Sunday, February 28th from 2-4 at the studio.  I’ll have some AWESOME session specials for the party attendees, fabulous door prizes from local boutiques and vendors plus some yummy food and drinks!  I am SO excited to show you all the new studio and a big thank you to my clients who have already come out for sessions despite it is still a “work in progress”.  :)

I’m going to be traveling this weekend but stay tuned for newborn overload next week.  Two of my little ones were born this week and can’t wait to meet them next week!!!

I was over at the studio yesterday working on some things and snapped a few of Miss Hannah.  Can you believe she will be FOUR this month?!  Oh my goodness!

{sneak peek} Birmingham baby photographer

My tadpoles always grow up way too quickly.  I feel like I was just at this little one’s home setting up for her newborn session and today we were breaking out the birthday cake.  *sigh*  (and for those of you new to the blog, the tadpole name is in reference to my first year baby plan!)

After our “formal” shots, we set this cake next to her and she checked it out for a minute and then decided to go face first into it!  Cute doesn’t even begin to describe it.  :)

This might just be one of my favorite images ever.  Classic.

{brand spankin’ new}

If you are a frequent visitor of my blog, I’m sure you got a big surprise today to see I have a new look!  I felt it was time to “spice up” the ol’ blog- it was in major need of renovations.  ;)  Ok, so I am also stuck at home since my car is in the shop  (not happy about that!) so that gave me some extra time to get things done.  Hannah and I even baked a chocolate cake today.  ;)

Take some time to check out the cool new features- let me direct your attention to the left of the screen <—– see those little sidebars?  You can hover your pointer over each to check out my Facebook page as well as current news and specials!  Super cool!

Also in with the “new” theme is my new natural light studio!  I am totally in love.  It is both gorgeous inside and out featuring drool-worthy natural lighting on the inside rooms for sessions as well as a fabulous back yard and huge field directly across the street.  I can’t wait for the weather to get warmer, get some wildflowers planted and just have a blast shooting sessions there.  I hope you all will come by soon to check it out!  I also have the grand opening party planning in the works so look for the official info coming soon!  I am working with some great boutiques and stores in our area for FABULOUS door prizes and gifts!

I can’t believe it- I don’t think I’ve even shown you guys the new studio.  Here’s a peek …  isn’t it cute?  :)

{sneak peek} Birmingham Baby Photographer

It was so great to go out to the gardens this morning!  I haven’t been out there in quite a while so it was a nice little change of scenery.  :)  I met little Miss R and her mom out there for her one year portraits.  It was a tad chilly but she was such a trooper!

She has the most beautiful dark brown eyes… just like my little girl!  I’m a sucker for those big brown eyes!  :)

So great to meet you girls this morning!  See you all again soon!

{sneak peek} Valentine’s Mini Sessions

I admit I was a little nervous yesterday morning as I saw that it was going to be very overcast and dreary for my in-studio mini sessions day.  As you know, I’m a natural light photographer- so if there’s no light, well, that makes my job a little tougher.  If I was outdoors- it would have been totally fine but since I was in my new studio and still learning the best places to shoot, it was definitely a challenge.  But you know what?  Everything went perfect!!!  The babies and kiddos were happy, the light was no issue, we stayed on schedule and my assistant rocked it out.  It was a great day!

Thanks to everyone who came out to my new studio yesterday.  It was so great to meet so many new people and I hope you all come out to visit again soon!

Ok, ok.  Enough of my rambling… here’s a sneak peek!!

I started off the day with Miss L.  We had so much fun dressing up and twirling around!

she also had fun hiding from me!  hee hee  :)

Next I got to meet two sisters- age 2 and 3 months  :)

Big sis is just gorgeous… look at those eyes and those curls…

and baby sis… oh so chubby and cute!

and then sweet Miss H- she is 10.5 months and soooo cute!!  I just got this new ruffle butt diaper cover in and had to try it out.  :)

love those little toes!

and last, but certainly not least, the ladies’ man!  I can’t believe how big he has gotten- you might remember him from his newborn session

Whew!  I think that’s it!  Thanks again to everyone for coming to the studio yesterday!  Mandy and I had a great time and can’t wait to get more things rolling at the studio in the near future… including the big grand opening!  :)
