what a week!

Wow- I can’t believe I am sitting at my desk at home and our Disney vacation has already come and gone.  We flew to Orlando Monday morning and spent 4 nights at Walt Disney World.  Let me tell ya- October is such a great month to go.  The weather was sooo nice (not too hot, yet warm enough to swim) and the lines… oh, the lines!  We hardly had to wait for most rides and the longest we had to wait was maybe 20 minutes max.  Can’t beat that!

Tuesday morning- up bright and early for breakfast at Chef Mickey’s!  And when I say bright and early, that isn’t even right.  It was still DARK out when we had to leave for our 7:00 reservation!  That’s just not right!  ;)  After a round of Mickey waffles, all was well though.  YUM.  Later that day, we met up with one of my best friends, Danika, and her husband at the Animal Kingdom.  It was so great to see them and get to hang out for the afternoon.  They drove up from Miami just to see us- how sweet!!!  Tuesday night we went to the “Not So Scary Halloween Party”.  It was fun…. but after a whirlwind couple of “first” days at the parks… we were worn slap out come 8:00 when it was time to go to the party!  We watched the parade, did one round of trick-or-treating and then watched the fireworks as we edged our way towards the exit.  ;)

Wednesday- oh boy- the alarm goes off early again though for this morning- our breakfast reservation wasn’t until 8:20.  Hannah was particularly excited about this one because we were on our way to the CASTLE to eat with Cinderella!!!  She got dressed in her finest princess attire and off we went.  :)  After breakfast we headed over to Hollywood Studios for the day.  I think this was Chad’s favorite moment- he found a Star Wars ride/store.  He would have probably stayed there for the entire trip if I’d let him.  Let’s just say that the Magic Kingdom and/or anything we wanted to do was not up his alley!

Thursday… NO ALARM.  That’s right- we slept in.  So nice!  We had breakfast and headed over for another day at the Animal Kingdom.  Chad and I took turns riding the Mount Everest roller coaster and having our “adult ride” fix (well overdue).  I had been drooling over several of the rides so it was nice to finally be able to get on something that someone under 40″ couldn’t ride.

We spent the afternoon relaxing at the hotel before our last big hurrah before leaving today.  We had dinner reservations at the Sprit of Aloha luau.  It is crazy how you have to figure out how you are going to get yourselves to these places.  Take this bus here, then get on this bus to this boat… etc.  For this particular journey, we took a bus to the Magic Kingdom and then hopped on a train to the Polynesian resort.  :)   Of course, this means leaving well in advance because you never know how long you’ll have to wait for your bus or train!  The dinner show was fabulous though and we had a front row table.  What a great way to end our trip!  I also met another photographer who was sitting next to us- so great to meet new photog friends! (Hi Dana!)

Aaaaaaand that leads us to today.  Our last day.  Hannah and I headed over to the Magic Kingdom one last time  (yeah, Chad was far beyond Disney’d out) and she and I played around the park and did some last minute souvenir shopping.  She finally got her “baby Ariel” doll she wanted (though I tried to bribe her with it if she’d ride the Haunted Mansion with me!  ha ha ha!)  I need to post the video of Hannah driving the race cars too- it was HILARIOUS!  I pushed the gas and she steered and we wrecked (well, on the track) every 5 seconds and were laughing so hard!

Great trip.  Great, great trip.

Here are a few pics taken with my iPhone during the week
