This morning I got to meet up with this sweet family at the gardens. We had gorgeous weather for our morning of exploring!

This morning I got to photograph a precious baby girl- it was a week ago today that I was at the hospital to document her birth day. She is just perfect- I know her parents are so in love.

A couple of weeks ago I had a session at the botanical gardens. As we were getting out of our cars and getting outfits ready, etc. I was approached by another photographer who was also getting things ready for a session who started chatting with me about what camera I shoot with, vice versa, etc. We talked for a couple of minutes and then went back to getting ready for our sessions. My client and I packed the stroller with simply the baby and outfits and I grabbed my camera- we were ready to go! The photographer came back over to me and asked where all of my props were at and I said that we didn’t bring any props for our session. She replied with “well you should have brought a wagon and then you could have brought things to use!” as she piled her wagon as high as she could with tons of chairs, boxes, etc. My client giggled and we headed off to the gardens for our session. As we strolled through the gardens we saw several photographers with wagons piled high and parents lugging mass amounts of “stuff” around the gardens for their respective sessions. (Imagine a wagon full and both parents lugging chairs while keeping up with their kiddos- oh my!) Again… we giggled. To each their own and I respect that we all have our own style and opinions… some love to have all of these props and that’s totally cool but for me- simple is better. Especially at the gardens. Don’t get me wrong- I do love some props and have many at my studio- but when you are at the gardens- there is such natural beauty to incorporate into your session. Simply using the gorgeous greenery and stone walls or the beautiful wrought iron fence… it all makes beautiful, timeless portraits without all the fluff. Just my random thought I wanted to share!

Give it a try… it’s my challenge to you all- see if you can go to a location- just you and your camera- and shoot a full session using just what is supplied there to incorporate into your portraits.

I thought I would share from my session that morning at the gardens- within 45 minutes we had shot an entire session and had many gorgeous images featuring different backgrounds and outfits without having to haul tons of stuff around with us. This week I had this sweet baby girl at the studio for her newborn portraits. Isn’t she a doll?

It’s been busy around the studio this month! I’m so glad that it’s starting to warm up and really start to look like spring outside. That also means more outdoor sessions! When we’ve had nice weather we have taken full advantage of it and headed outdoors! Here’s a peek into what we’ve been up to at the studio and studio field this month!

This morning I had two sweet babies at the studio! The first was an adorable 5-week-old baby boy. Isn’t he so handsome in his Easter outfit?! It was so great to meet him and his parents. I really enjoyed our time together!

My second session was with a baby girl that I first met in December when I went to the St. Vincent’s NICU to photograph the NICU babies with Santa along with Footprints Ministry. Sweet Saxon was born 11 weeks early and weighed only 1 pound 9 ounces at birth. I’m happy to report that she is now a happy and healthy 5 month old! It was an honor to have her at the studio this morning for her first official session. She even decided to sleep for a bit (being cute is hard work!) so I got a few “sleepy” shots as well!

The brought some of the things from her nursery- I just love incorporating things that are special into our sessions! <3

Happy Saturday (and almost Easter!) I had two cuties at the studio this morning- one little guy who is about to celebrate his first birthday in April and Miss A who came in for her Easter mini!

Happy Friday! I had a great time this morning with this sweet family. I can’t believe it was already time for Mr. L’s two-year-old portraits. They also recently welcomed a new member to their family- a precious Brittany Spaniel puppy! I, of course, had to get a couple of photos of her too!

*crickets*…. I know… that’s what it has been like around the blog lately but I am trying to make a vow that I will no longer neglect the blog! Things have just been so extremely busy (which is a good thing!) that I typically only update the facebook page. (So… be sure to always check out the Facebook page facebook.com/stephaniefisherphotography)

We are booking for Easter minis now- at last check I think we just have two spots left for the Friday date (March 15th) so email us at sfphotographystudio@gmail.com to get your spot! And as always, we generally book sessions several weeks in advance. If you have a baby on the way, it is never too early to get your due date on our calendar! We already have several late summer babies on the calendar!
