Ahhhh, I love doing these sessions every year. If you are anything like me, you are always behind the camera and never in front of it. It’s time to capture you with your beautiful children! Friday May 4th is our annual mom and me mini sessions and the focus is on you smiling, hugging, squeezing and playing with your little ones. What a way to start our week! We had a precious and tiny 5 lb baby girl and her family at the studio this morning. Her big sister used to take ballet with Hannah so it was so great to see a familiar face! I’m so glad they remembered me and emailed to set up a session as they prepared for the arrival of their sweet new baby girl. Congrats M Family!! So wonderful to see you all. -Stephanie

This afternoon we had a session with a fabulous family at their home. They had all of their children and grandchildren there for an early Christmas so we came out to get some family shots and some of the kiddos. We had SO much fun with them- despite the chilly weather they totally rocked it out! Here’s just a few of my favorite shots of the little ones.

Wow- I can’t believe it is already December!! Our Elf, Elfie, arrived a few days ago and has already been getting into lots of mischief- including painting a mustache on Hannah last night!

It was finally time to get our Christmas tree and decorations out so today we set out for the task. After hauling everything from the attic, we got the pre-lit tree all set up, plugged it in…. and only parts of the tree lit up. Just my luck! After lots of fiddling with it, we packed it back up and decided to go buy a new tree. A half hour later we were back home and setting up our NEW tree.

Hannah loves unpacking the ornaments each year- our tree is decorated with years and years worth of memories through handmade and gifted ornaments. And of course the bottom is especially full where Hannah decorates.

I had the wonderful experience to photograph the birth of one of our best friends’ new baby girl this morning. I am amazed at each and every birth that I photograph and today was definitely no different. This family means the world to us and their older daughter is one of Hannah’s best friends.

The birth was also QUICK!! I was doing a little bit of work this morning before heading to the hospital thinking that, as with most births, it can go a little slow. She had just gone in a couple of hours earlier for an induction. Yes, I should know by now that that is not always the case… and it was definitely not the case today that’s for sure! I got a text from J at 10 a.m. saying “I’m at 8cm and water broke!” I immediately threw on some clothes, grabbed my camera bag and ran out the door. Luckily Shelby Baptist is only a half mile from my house so I was there promptly at 10:15. After snapping just a few shots J was checked by the nurse who said it was time to start pushing! Yes, it was 10:24 at this point- 9 minutes after I arrived! Ten minutes after that the doctor was called in and then at 10:47 Gracie Lyn was here! What a fast, easy birth it was and I am SO glad I got there in time!

Here’s a few peeks into their morning with the arrival of Miss Gracie Lyn- 7 lbs 13 oz.

Here is big sister coming around the corner to meet her baby sister for the first time!
