I was contacted by one of my sorority sisters from college about doing a mini session for her in her beautiful city of Maryville, Tennessee as Chad and I were to be on our way to Gatlinburg. Of course I had to say YES! It was so great to see her and her growing family and this location was absolutely perfect. We hope to travel back up in May to photograph that sweet new little one!

This morning started out rainy and gloomy but by mid morning the sun actually peeked out just in time for our session with the J Family! I was so happy because I just *knew* the field would be perfect for their session.

We did a mini session to document their new little one who will arrive next month. What a beautiful soon-to-be-family-of-five.

It was so wonderful to meet you all this morning. Congratulations again and we hope to meet that sweet baby girl soon!

Here’s a little of what we’ve been up to at the studio this week! We’ve had quite the mix of subjects from expectant parents to one of the first newborns I ever photographed who is now over three years old! (and she has a little brother!)

Tuesday we had sweet Miss E at the studio for her three year portraits. I’ve been photographing this little blonde beauty for awhile now and she is always so fun to photograph! She’s definitely the star of the show!

We also had Miss A celebrating her 8-month-birthday with us. Not only did we celebrate her birthday- but her fabulous parents brought ME a cake for my belated birthday! Let me tell ya, this cake was FABULOUS! In fact, I’ll post a pic. ;) Can you tell I’m excited?!

It looks JUST like my camera! And notice the platter- made out of portraits from our previous sessions together. P Family- YOU ROCK. :)

So… I guess you want to see a peek at that session too, huh?

Wednesday we had a maternity session with a couple expecting their first little one in just a couple of weeks. Upon chatting, the dad and I realized that we used to work for the same company! Small world. :) Isn’t this mom-to-be stunning?!

We then had these sweet little ones from Atlanta. Miss H was one of my very first newborns to photograph back when I started my photography journey. I can’t believe she is over 3 now and has an 18 month old brother! It was so amazing to get to see her and her momma again and meet her sweet little brother.

Needless to say, we’ve had a fun week at the studio! This morning we were on location shooting so that sneak peek is to come shortly! Then another session tomorrow morning with a baby near and dear to our hearts and then off to Anniston to photograph one of our tadpole’s first birthday party! Yes, we stay super busy but I wouldn’t have it any other way. I absolutely love my job. :)

Right before the new year we got to photograph the beautiful Michelle and her husband John who are the owners of Flip Factor in the Alabaster/Pelham area. My little girl has been taking gymnastics there for a couple of years now with them and they are just so wonderful with all of the kids. If you are thinking about gymnastics for your children- I highly recommend checking them out. (tell them we sent ya!)

I can’t wait to get my hands on that new little one! We might just have to do a part of the newborn session at the gym… I’ve got a couple of ideas.

I’m sooooo glad those thunderstorms held off until this afternoon because I have been looking forward to this session and definitely did NOT need rain! This sweet couple drove all the way from Atlanta for their session this morning. So, needless to say- with her only 30 days from her due date and 2.5 hours away… we needed the morning to be beautiful and it was. :)

The mom-to-be and I were good friends in high school and re-connected via the wonderful world of Facebook. :) It was awesome to see her this morning and catch on the last X years plus get some fab shots of them!

And an outtake that I thought was cute! ;) Comparing bellies…

SOOOOOO good to see you all this morning! Thanks so much for making the long trip just to see me! Hannah and I will definitely venture to Atlanta for the next session and we can also do a trip to the American Girl store. :)

Hello from Enterprise! Hannah and I are down this way visiting the family and of course I have to get a couple of sessions in while I’m in town! Yesterday I met up with this adorable couple who are expecting their first little one literally ANY day now! I told her if she goes into labor while I’m here- I’ll head to the hospital to do the photos for her! ;)

Doesn’t she look FABULOUS for 39+ weeks?! And I love how you can see his reflection in the window… just barely. Can you see him?!

Good luck guys! I can’t wait to hear the news of her arrival!

Ok, so I don’t do many maternity sessions. Can I confess they kind of scare me? Well, any session with a person over the age of… 4 where I have to actually “pose” them scares me. I know, I know. I’m silly. If I can just chase you and snap pictures, I’m cool with that. :)

This morning I had a maternity session with a gorgeous momma-to-be. I have been looking forward to this ever since I found out she was expecting!! I saw her at my studio grand opening and she was just glowing and beautiful with that perfect baby belly… just as I expected and I couldn’t wait for our session today. :) Lucky for me she was up for trying anything- even when I stuck my red chair out in a muddy field. (you rock!) We had so much fun shooting and chatting all morning. Here are just a couple from our morning!

Did I mention she is gorgeous???

Love this one… I was joking around with Mandy saying “hmmm… what can we make her do now? Jump?!” and she excited replied with “I’ll totally jump!” and we got this fun shot!

Can’t wait to meet that sweet baby boy in just a few weeks! Sooooo good to see you today!

I say Birmingham… but this family came from Auburn for our session! Despite our 40 degree chilly weather, we rocked out the session! Little Mr. H is expecting a new baby brother soon! Mom is currently 31 weeks and looks fabulous.

They brought their oldest dog, Savannah, to the session and I was so happy they did. She is a part of the family and I was so excited to be able to incorporate her into the family pictures!

I just adore this shot…
