Yesterday evening we met up at our gorgeous field to photograph this family. It was so. much. fun! I just love fun and relaxed outdoor sessions- we can really let the kiddos play and explore and let their little personalities come out. :)

Happy Saturday! I spent my morning was such a handsome almost-two-years-old fella. He and his mom are home visiting from Phoenix so I’m glad I had a chance to meet them while they are here! He was all about his little baseball bat and ball- and let me tell ya- he’s got quite the swing for a 23 month old! ;)

It was so wonderful to meet you all. Mr. B is absolutely adorable ~stephanie

I’m back on track with blogging… think I can keep it up? Things have been crazy busy as always- but that’s a good thing. :)

This evening (yep, this evening! told ya I’m back on track!) we had a session with sweet 16-month-old Miss J. I photographed her almost a year ago so it was so wonderful to see her and her parents again today. She is the most beautiful little girl with golden blonde hair and big blue eyes. We went down to the creek for a few shots and she just could NOT resist the urge to sit in the water. I think it made for the winning shot of the day. :)

Another catchup post of what we’ve been up to this past week at the studio!

We had the honor of photographing this family who came all the way from FRANCE! Ok, so they didn’t come just for ME but they were here visiting a client of ours who so kindly referred them to us for portraits while they are visiting the states. It was so wonderful to meet them. Mom has baby #3 on the way and there is talk of me going to France for the newborn session

Next up we had sweet Mr. Miller who turned ONE! It seems like yesterday we were doing his newborn shots and now look at him… Remember this little one? We did his newborn portrait on his little rocking horse and now he’s 4 months old and getting cuter by the day! And now the precious Miss H who just turned one! You might remember seeing her fabulous birthday party here on the blog recently. She brought along her cousins for a photo session as well! So wonderful to see everyone! Don’t forget- if you’re interested in a fall session, NOW is the time to book. We will be booking through 11/15 and for December it will be newborns and tadpoles only until the new year. :)

Here’s a little of what we’ve been up to at the studio this week! We’ve had quite the mix of subjects from expectant parents to one of the first newborns I ever photographed who is now over three years old! (and she has a little brother!)

Tuesday we had sweet Miss E at the studio for her three year portraits. I’ve been photographing this little blonde beauty for awhile now and she is always so fun to photograph! She’s definitely the star of the show!

We also had Miss A celebrating her 8-month-birthday with us. Not only did we celebrate her birthday- but her fabulous parents brought ME a cake for my belated birthday! Let me tell ya, this cake was FABULOUS! In fact, I’ll post a pic. ;) Can you tell I’m excited?!

It looks JUST like my camera! And notice the platter- made out of portraits from our previous sessions together. P Family- YOU ROCK. :)

So… I guess you want to see a peek at that session too, huh?

Wednesday we had a maternity session with a couple expecting their first little one in just a couple of weeks. Upon chatting, the dad and I realized that we used to work for the same company! Small world. :) Isn’t this mom-to-be stunning?!

We then had these sweet little ones from Atlanta. Miss H was one of my very first newborns to photograph back when I started my photography journey. I can’t believe she is over 3 now and has an 18 month old brother! It was so amazing to get to see her and her momma again and meet her sweet little brother.

Needless to say, we’ve had a fun week at the studio! This morning we were on location shooting so that sneak peek is to come shortly! Then another session tomorrow morning with a baby near and dear to our hearts and then off to Anniston to photograph one of our tadpole’s first birthday party! Yes, we stay super busy but I wouldn’t have it any other way. I absolutely love my job. :)

This morning we took a trip to Tuscaloosa to photograph one of our favorite families- a trip we were supposed to make the morning of Friday, April 29th. Unfortunately, as many of you are far too familiar, devastating tornadoes hit us here in Alabama on 4/27. One of those devastating tornadoes took the home of this beautiful family.

They were home the day the tornado swept through Tuscaloosa, Alabama. Their home took a direct hit and the dad protected them by strongly holding onto a mattress to keep them shielded from the debris. They were in a downstairs closet but the winds and debris forced it’s way in.

Today we finally got together to document sweet Mr. R’s first year. We’ve had so many wonderful sessions and memories documented this past year- I am so truly grateful I am able to give them those memories back that were taken by that April 27th storm.

We met up at their new home that they are slowly rebuilding after pretty much losing everything. We photographed Mr. R, and got some fun family shots too (including some doggie kisses) and we played outside.

We then decided a trip to the old home would be a great thing to document- especially since it was being bulldozed later this afternoon.

This is what used to be the second level on their home. Here is sweet little one- from newborn to his first year. A whole new meaning to “what a difference a year makes” … Thank you for a wonderful year B Family. I have enjoyed documenting your family this past year and look forward to many more to come! We love you all! :)

So… I am fairly behind in blogging. After the April 27th tornadoes that hit us here in Alabama, things went on hold as we worked around the clock for storm relief. As many of you know, we lost one of our precious clients in the storm and several of our other clients lost their homes and all of their possessions. So many people have come forward to send us donations, baby items, clothing, etc. and the response was completely, completely overwhelming. I can’t thank you all enough for all of the support our state has received from you all. Each day we received so many car loads, FedEx delieveries and paypal donations… truly amazing. Your donations went to help not only the Grier/Lowe families, but SO SO SO many others in the state of Alabama that were hard hit by the “nightmare” storms. Also a big thank you to Jay at Birmingham Kids’ Directory and our friends who helped to keep tabs on all donations coming in each day to the studio and scheduling deliveries to the hard hit areas as Mandy and I were out of town. THANK YOU.

I also want to thank all of our clients who have waited so patiently for their galleries. Please know that I am working extra hard now to get caught up on all of your precious galleries!!! I am now back into full work mode! :):)

So… here are some long overdue sneak peeks and what we’ve been up to at the studio and on location from Birmingham to Sylacauga to Seaside!!!

(and a trip to Seaside thrown in the mix! a much needed little break… and some gorgeous beach shots…)
