This morning I had the honor of photographing 4-week-old baby Thomas at the UAB NICU. He was born at 28 weeks weighing in at a mere 2 pounds 11 ounces and 15.5 inches. Today he is thriving and already well over 3 pounds. His mom has quite the birth story and was transferred via ambulance from Enterprise to Birmingham and had him just minutes after arriving at the hospital. And yes- I said Enterprise! When talking via Facebook with his mom I realized that she was from Enterprise and we went to high school together. Such a small world. 
He got to wear his very first outfit today for his big morning with me. How awesome to be able to photograph his mom being able to dress her precious baby boy for the first time. *sigh*
I was delighted to walk in and see this on the board. He was READY!

Thank you so much for this experience and so happy I can share my story with other families. He was suppose to be a 40 week baby at least 10 to 11 pounds needless to say at week 28 he was ready to join me and his daddy in this world. After a bumpy ambulance ride to Birmingham and only about 15 mins of real labor Thomas was born into this world on January 26th at 2:18pm. I had him in less than 8 mins and still at the time didn’t realize I was actually having him until I heard him whimper and cry. We have had our share of ups and downs and still have a fight ahead of us but thanks to the doctors, nurses and staff at UAB we have a healthy one month old baby boy right now. This place is like a home now but today it felt more like home talking with Stephaine about high school and Enterprise. She gave me an experience today I will never have to forget. The pictures she captured of my child will forever be pictures that hang in our home. Thank you so much Stephaine and Mandy for coming and giving me and my family memories will forever cherish!!! Can’t wait until we do it again…

Here’s how we started our week at the studio! Saturday was a sweet baby boy celebrating his first birthday and then two sweet almost-5-month-olds today. Keep your eyes peeled- we have lots of sessions this week from maternity to newborn to kiddos! I love my job.

As I was going through my images tonight- I ran across these that I shot of my great-grandparents back in the summer. I just adore these shots. Most of you know they adopted me when I was 6 and we go to visit them in Enterprise often and my grandmother that lives in Florida. Can you believe they are Hannah’s great GREAT grandparents?!
I would love to have some outdoor Easter photos taken of our two youngest little boys this year. We adopted them a little over two years ago from Ukraine and they both have Down Syndrome. They are currently four and six. Can you tell me about these sessions and if you have any space left?
