Today I made a trip down to Dothan, Alabama to document the arrival of a sweet baby girl flying home from China. She has been adopted by a wonderful family from my hometown and they are over the moon to finally have her home. I was honored when she asked if I could possibly be there to document this special day for them and of course said YES! When I arrived at the airport, there were so many people there ready to welcome sweet Allie Ruth home… it was simply amazing. The signs… balloons… gifts… she is already one very loved little one and has touched so many lives before even arriving home to the US.
One story that has stuck in my mind was when they were starting the adoption process and explained to their two boys that their new sister would look a little different from them. You see- they are a family of blonde hair and blue eyes- so they explained that she would have dark hair and dark eyes unlike them. (They even named their adoption blog “mixing up the blonde”) The boys were convinced that they were wrong- they said that their sister was going to have blonde hair and blue eyes just like them. And guess what? She does! They just knew… how amazing is that?!
Here is a peek into our day from getting to meet her brothers for the first time to meeting friends and family. I then followed them to their home- her new forever home- and got a glimpse into her beautiful bedroom perfect for a very loved little princess. (bedroom designed by Bellamia- you have to check out her awesome post she did about the room makeover here)
Without further adieu… meet Miss Allie Ruth!
